Life Cycle of a Bee – Felt Board Story 🐝🌼
A fun, hands-on way to explore the fascinating journey of a bee!
This felt board set breaks the life cycle of a bee into four easy-to-understand stages, perfect for early science lessons in classrooms or at home:
1️⃣ Egg – The Queen Bee lays her eggs, placing each one carefully into a honeycomb cell to begin its development.
2️⃣ Larva – The eggs hatch into larvae, hungry and growing quickly as they’re cared for by worker bees.
3️⃣ Pupa – The larvae spin cocoons and transform inside, developing legs, wings, and eyes.
4️⃣ Adult – The fully formed bee emerges! There are three types:
-
Queen Bee – the egg-laying ruler of the hive
-
Drone – the male bee
-
Worker Bee – the busy female bee that does almost everything else!
If more than one Queen Bee hatches, a new Queen will leave the hive with a group of drones and workers to form a brand-new colony—starting the life cycle all over again!
🧠 A fun and interactive resource for teaching science, life cycles, and teamwork in the hive!
